Dark Times for the GOP, But Good Times Ahead for the Rest of US

** Republican lawmaker calls her constituent an asshole in letter. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (R-MO) sent a letter to one of her Missouri constituents and ended it with, "I think you're an asshole." Emerson claims she knew nothing about it.

** John McCain says he is "resentful" of Donald Rumsfeld for the way he has mismanaged the Iraq War. McCain is a complete supporter of Bush's war, and is now realizing that it might hurt his chances for getting elected President in 2008. Too bad, buddy. You sold your soul in 2004. You can't get it back.

** All the staff shake-ups at the White House are completely meaningless. Scott McClellan is just the messenger. The problem is the message. Unless a real top player like Donald Rumsfeld, Condi Rice, Dick Cheney or Karl Rove are leaving, nothing will change. You can't polish a turd.

** The Bush News Network (aka Fox News) is reporting W's approval numbers at the record low 33%. Even Fox can't spin this away. America is rejecting the Bush agenda.
