Is The End of Right Wing Media Domination Near?

The new cable television ratings are out and things are not looking good for right-wingers. In the first quarter of 2006, MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann's ratings increased by 41%. He beat out both CNN and CNN Headline News. This is the first time in five years that MSNBC has beaten CNN at this time slot.

While Olbermann's ratings are up by 41% over last year, Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor is down 33% among the coveted 25-54 age demographic. He is still #1, however. O'Reilly's ratings slippage seems to coincide with his sanity slippage. The guy is absolutely off-the-rails crazy! His obsession with Keith Olbermann has caused him to sick "Fox Security" on anyone who calls his radio show and utters Olbermann's name.

I like Keith's show a lot. It has an interesting mix of news, humor, and commentary. He is not mean-spirited, and he never personally attacks his guests (unlike the guy on Fox that shares the timeslot).
